We are a small, but very busy, exotic and small animal hospital, looking for an experienced and energetic part-time veterinary technician to join our team. We are a progressive AAHA accredited 1 ½ doctor practice, looking for a candidate who loves people and animals alike and can be an integral part of our work family.

Candidate must have experience including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, IV catheter placement, and excellent customer service skills. Exotics and dental experience preferred but not required. The hospital is fully equipped with all the fun “toys” including digital radiology and handheld dental radiology with a digital processor.

We have a focus on traditional western as well as eastern medicine and offer acupuncture on site as well as a Class IV healing laser and Advanced Allergy Treatment Center. We have excellent anesthesia monitoring equipment including etCO2, esophageal ECG, spO2, and oscillometric blood pressure monitoring. We use all the latest greatest drugs and protocols and are constantly learning, changing, and updating.

The position is part time (25-30 hours) Monday through Friday 1pm-close (needs to be a bit flexible, sometime between 6-7pm) with some benefits including uniforms, excellent pet benefits, CE, and never work weekends again! Our technician assists veterinarians with care and surgery of patients. He/she assists clients with their animals by restraint and through client education and sharing of information. He/she assists the front office staff during busy times by answering the phone, assisting/processing clients at the front desk, releasing and admitting animals to the hospital, filling prescriptions, etc.

The successful technician is a person who sees something that needs doing and does it without being asked or leaving it for someone else to deal with. This means a general awareness of the big picture. Do animals have proper bedding, food and water? Are medications being given to boarding animals? Has anybody cleaned up that mess in the waiting room? Are surgical patients recovering as expected? With time, it is expected that the successful technician will anticipate the needs of the veterinarian and keep one step ahead.
