Background

New Hampshire is currently one of eleven states that does not require licensure or certification for veterinary technicians.

The first step in requiring certification is to form an association. Four members of the Veterinary Technician Advisory Board for the New Hampshire Community Technical College, at Stratham, initiated the formation of this association.

  1. George Bailey, Hospital Administrator, Stratham-Newfields Veterinary Hospital
  2. Kimberley Belliveau, BS, CVT, Hospital Manager, Stratham-Newfields Veterinary Hospital
  3. Lois Senecal, MS, LVT, CVT, New Hampshire Community Technical College at Stratham
  4. Barbara Perry, MAED, LVT, Sagamore Animal Hospital

Sonnya Dennis, DVM and George Bailey (owners of Stratham-Newfields Veterinary Hospital) donated the fees necessary for the attorney to draw up the list of by-laws and guidelines for the formation of the NHVTA.
